________________________
For most of the first 20 years of the UM/UWC partnership, the UMSAEP focused on faculty exchanges. Beginning in 2001, however, the UMSAEP committee created the Henry Mitchell Scholarship to provide opportunities for UM and UWC students to study at their partner institution. In 2004, the MU School of Law launched a study abroad program with the UWC law faculty. That program has run continuously since then. All 4 UM schools have run programs since 2004 and hundreds of UM students have participated in lifechanging UM faculty led study abroad programs in Cape Town as a result.
For UWC students, the Henry Mitchell Scholarship, the Ivan Rugema Fellowship and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine summer research internship have afforded them incredibly enriching experiences.
If you are a student at any UM System campus (MU, UMKC, Missouri S&T or UMSL) and want more information about UMSAEP and study abroad programs, contact your Campus Coordinator.
