Chemistry Professor Michael Nichols Discusses His Research on Alzheimer’s Disease

Nichols has been studying how the amyloid-β protein interacts with a group of three proteins known as NLRP3 inflammasome to cause inflammation inside immune cells in the brain.

The state-of-the-art Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health building on the MU campus brings a range of health researchers, clinicians and industry partners together under one roof in search of life-saving precision health diagnostics, treatments and therapies. Their collaborative effort using the building’s advanced instrumentation and multidisciplinary laboratory spaces streamlines the process of developing new solutions for patients.
