Robert D. Blitz was appointed to the University of Missouri Board of Curators by Governor Mike Parson in April 2023.
Blitz has practiced law for 50 years since graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1973. He is a member of the law firm of Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch, L.C., with offices in St. Louis, Columbia and Jefferson City. During his career, Blitz has had the highest verdict and settlement in each of the last three decades. He has been awarded Lawyer of the Year twice and the BAMSL Distinguished Lawyer Award. Over his career, he has changed or made new law in both the state and federal courts.
Anonymously, Blitz has made significant contributions to health, education, public safety and legal organizations. In 2022, Blitz was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He lives with his wife, Janet, in St. Louis.
