Wednesday afternoon Governor Parson made his State of the State speech and released his FY21 budget recommendations. This year the Governor recommended that the University of Missouri System core stay flat at $416M and a $3M line item for NextGen Precision Health.
The Governor also recommended $19.6M for MoExcels grants, with UMSL receiving $1.5M to expand the nursing program, MU to receive $2.5M for clinical service engineering program, S&T will receive $380k for an increase preparation of K-12 teachers qualified to teach in STEM disciplines and UM System will receive $1.9M for faculty development to support expansion of online programs in business, health science, IT, criminal justice, cybersecurity and business programs. A total of $6.2M out of the $19.6M.
