University of Missouri-Columbia After a closure of a research reactor in Europe, MU’s Research Reactor and its staff have increased production to help alleviate disruptions in the global supply chain, ensuring patients receive their life-saving treatments. The University of Missouri hosted a Higher Education and Workforce Development roundtable with Governor Mike Parson which highlighted his budget proposal that includes significant investments in higher education. President Choi discussed the incredible work of MU’s research reactor and how it is currently the only U.S. supplier of five life-saving radiopharmaceutical isotopes used in cancer and cardiac drugs. |
University of Missouri-Kansas City The University of Missouri-Kansas City is working to shift the focus from degree attainment to career outcomes to better prepare students for the workforce and to secure professional, high-paying careers. This new approach is part of the UMKC Forward initiative, a multi-year investment by the university to meet and exceed the needs of their students. Governor Mike Parson hosted a roundtable at UMKC to bring together Kansas City area workforce and higher education leaders earlier this month. Chancellor Mauli Agrawal discussed his plan to invest funds into UMKC’s Health Sciences District. |
Missouri University of Science and Techonology Missouri S&T was one of three universities chosen by NASA to develop mineral extraction techniques for lunar construction as part of a NASA project to make it possible for people to live and work on the moon. NASA will provide up to $2 million over two years to support S&T’s research. |
