Michele Moyer joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2022 and currently represents the University on contract matters. Michele’s legal career began at the Bergmanis Law Firm in Camdenton, Missouri, where she practiced personal injury and criminal defense. Following her time in private practice, Michele relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah, and worked as an Information Privacy Administrator with the University of Utah Health Privacy Office focusing on HIPAA compliance. Prior to law school, Michele was fortunate to work at different law firms in various practice areas, including personal injury, estate planning, family law, oil and gas law, and higher education. She also worked at the Office of General Counsel at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City for over three years before returning to Missouri for law school.
Michele attended Drury University in Springfield, Missouri where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology in 2006. She also received a Master’s Degree in Criminology from Missouri State University in 2009 and earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2018. During law school, Michele worked as a research assistant to several professors with interests in the areas of free speech and protests on University campuses as well as employment law. She also worked as a law clerk at the Missouri Office of Public Counsel as well as Paige Sports Entertainment.
