Laura Greene primarily represents the university system’s hospitals and clinics, medical schools, and health professionals since joining the Office of the General Counsel in 2025.
Prior to joining the University, Laura was in private practice for nearly twenty years with Husch Blackwell, LLP and as a solo practitioner in Springfield, Missouri. Her client focus included health care providers in regulatory compliance and risk management with additional complex litigation trial experience in federal and state courts. Laura has authored a number of health law journal articles and book chapters, and she was a guest lecturer on Health Care Management.
Laura earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in English Literature from Southeast Missouri State University. She earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law where she was an editor for the American Journal of Law & Medicine and graduated with honors in her concentration in Health Law. After graduation, Laura served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr. of the Missouri Supreme Court. In 2010, Laura was recognized by Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly for obtaining one of Missouri’s top 10 civil defense verdicts. In 2022, Laura was honored with a Litigation Practitioner Award at the Missouri Lawyer’s Media Women’s Justice Awards for her work in healthcare compliance and employment risk management.
Laura resides in Springfield, Missouri with her husband, their youngest daughter, and a houseful of spoiled pets.
