The University of Missouri Board of Curators on Friday, June 1, issued the following statement regarding its Presidential search:
After receiving and reviewing comments from the members of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee late last week, the Board of Curators reached consensus to enter into negotiations with one candidate regarding possible employment and terms and conditions, all contingent upon final approval by the Board at a subsequent meeting. Those negotiations took place during the Memorial Day weekend and earlier this week. On Wednesday, May 30, that candidate advised the Board that he could no longer be a candidate as he was going to accept another employment opportunity in the private sector. Thus, the Curators will continue their search and entertain new candidates for the office of President.
