COLUMBIA, Mo. — Today, USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue highlighted the new location for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture and the Economic Research Service in Kansas City, Missouri.

“I want to extend a very warm Missouri welcome to the employees of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture and the Economic Research Service who are relocating from Washington, D.C. to Kansas City,” said Mun Choi, University of Missouri System president. “We are looking forward to exploring opportunities and partnerships that would strengthen Missouri’s agriculture industry.

“I would also like to thank our federal and state elected officials, especially Missouri Governor Michael Parson and Senator Roy Blunt, who helped bring these vital agencies to Kansas City. As tireless advocates for the agriculture industry in Missouri and beyond, Gov. Parson, Sen. Blunt and other elected officials have been a crucial part of making this happen. Thanks also to the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor, which has worked to show the nation the incredible global impact of the Kansas City region’s animal health industry.”
