Topping last year's second place finish, a student design team at the University of Missouri-Rolla won the West Coast championship in human-powered vehicle racing. The engineering students now move on to the East Coast championships where UMR has won five straight competitions. [read more ]

Future vision

Cats are similar to humans in many ways, especially the eyes. An MU researcher has been using bionic implants to help blind cats see. Some cats have had the implants for up to five years without unwanted side effects, showing great promise for the future use of similar chips in humans. [watch the video]
