The University of Missouri System’s statewide network of research parks provides a thriving environment for discoveries to move from the laboratory to the marketplace. The atmosphere of innovation and collaboration attracts national and international tenants who create quality employment opportunities for Missouri citizens and millions of dollars of capital investment across the state.
The University of Missouri System, in 2010, was the only business incubator in the country to be designated as an International Incubator “Soft Landing” site for non-domestic firms. The Life Sciences Incubator at Monsanto Place in Columbia joined just 18 other Soft Landing sites in the world.
The UM System Office of Research and Economic Development conducts national marketing of available sites and facilities within the various UM System assets and regularly develops and implements strategic marketing alliances with local, regional and state economic development allies. The Director of Research Parks for the UM System is responsible for project management, negotiation and execution of ground leases within UM System assets across Missouri. A special emphasis is placed on tech-oriented job creation and commercialization of UM System technologies.
